My first guess is that it won’t work as it is only a two-wire laser but I thought I would ask anyway. Thanks for any help. 
Is it only 2 wire? They connected 2 separate 2-wire connections… or were they just reconnecting one?
If it is only 2 wire then definitely not. If it has separate power and signal… solid “maybe”. It looks like it has a 16x40mm mounting hole pattern on the back so at least that’s right… but you’ll need to measure it.
The mounting pattern is correct I threw it on temporarily just to have something there. As for the connection, I’m not really sure. This is my first foray into lasers.

I’m assuming right now that I will need to get a different laser module but I was also holding out a little hope that I didn’t. LOL.
Ok, so there are only 2 wires for connecting the laser? In that case, sorry, but it won’t work.
