Following the dismantling of my pixelweb Xmas lights ( which everyone loved) I am now tinkering with a 15*10 matrix and getting great results, your code and interface really help a novice. Questions tho- do the EQ or spectrum animations react to sound ? I'm guessing yes and it's just my config on the pi that's holding me back ? USB soundcard is recognised and mic plugged in to listen to the audio but no response from PW. All other animations work great ?

Those animations have always been… troublesome at best.
They don’t react to the mic… the react to the audio output from the device. Ideally anyways.
The linux audio subsystem is kinda weird so I wrote that to just use the “default” device but even that is problematic at times.
The intent is to “react” to music playing on the device. You could however tweak the animation to pull from Mic instead… I just haven’t done that in a while.
