Errors in animations

Hi,
Firstly thanks again for pixelweb, it has really helped me get off the ground, and my kids love the Xmas lights they can control with their phones
There are 2 animations that fail they discovered- fireflies and search lights that fail with :-

Failure starting animation: __init__() got an unexpected keyword argument 'width'

Im trying to learn by fixing this script myself ( having no previous python exp) but after a few days research and googling I'm no further fwd. I'm sure this is easy for vast knowledge pools out there. Thanks in advance

Sure thing! It’s just the stock install of pixelweb with built in searchlight and fireflies animations, so I grabbed these from the biblioanimations folder ( which I believe is correct ? )

FireFlies.py (2.41 KB)

Searchlights.py (3.19 KB)

Ah, that “Failure starting animation” does not seem to be an error in BiblioPixel - I’m thinking it’s in pixelweb, which I know nothing about, also because there’s this MANIFEST, which I don’t recognize as a thing.

Is there any more to that error, like line numbers and things?

Look at the console in which you started pixelweb (if you have it setup to start on boot, stop it and start it manuall with run-pixelweb) and it should show the actual error there.

Can you send me the output of pip freeze | grep iblio ?
(just using iblio may seem weird, but it avoids case sensitive issues with the search).
I’m not really sure what the issue is… but seems like maybe you have the wrong BiblioPixelAnimations version.
