allpixel, pipixel and powertab PCB

Hello

GIven that the gerber/kicad files are freely available from github.
May we take those files and submit them to OSH Park to have PCB made?

I would like to purchase the PiPixel PCB boards.
The found the AllPixel PowerTap shared PCB on OSH Park.
I have a dozen of those in my cart on OSH Park.

I have 8 Raspberry Pi ranging from Version 1 to Compute Module 3. I do not have the Pi Zero W.
I have 6 AllPixel which I have used with the Raspberry Pi last year.
Using the PiPixel with the Raspberry Pi would be a “cleaner” approach.

I use the AllPixel with the Raspberry Pi to control 5,000 LEDs on numerous 4 to 5 meter long LED
strips. They are used for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah holiday decorations.

I have 5 new 5 meter reels of LEDs to add this year.

While Tom is correct, if you are interested, we do have kits available with the PCBs and all components: https://www.tindie.com/products/ManiacalLabs/pipixel-raspberry-pi-led-strip-hat/

If you have a method for sourcing the parts such that it’s cheaper for you to just have the PCBs made, then by all means, go ahead  I just wanted to offer up the kit option in case it is more economical for you than fabing the PCBs and then sourcing the components separately

And yes, any more details you can share on the project would be great! Sounds like fun

I will defer on hardware details to Adam, our hardware human, on the details but I can tell you these Maniacal Labs board designs are open source and royalty free, which means “go crazy and make as many of them as you like”.
